I agree this writer! First, I also think "Teaching English may be necessary in the global community, but as a Japanese, one must first be able to speak proper Japanese." The promotion of English education at the elementary school has become a issue in Japan. Recently, Japanese students' academic Japanese level is falling. Second, Japanese English rank is among the lowest in Asia. Why Japanese can't speak English like native. As a matter of English skill, I think government have to improve the current English education. The Japanese government have to starting English education from elementary school. Third, Japanese students will also have to overcome their shyness in trying out new words. Japanese are too conscious of how one is thought of by other people. Japanese will have more confidence in your use of English.
